Mulled Wine Recipes

There’s nothing better than a glass of mulled wine on a wintery night. To add a little difference, we’ve created some simple recipes with a twist to help warm the cockles using some of the wines that we stock.

All of the below recipes are best made in a large saucepan over a medium heat.

MULLED WINE (SERVES 10)

INGREDIENTS:

  • 2 bottles of Santana Red (features in our special offer brochure for £4.05)
  • 2 clementines
  • 1 lemon
  • 1 lime
  • 200g caster sugar
  • 6 whole cloves
  • 1 stick of cinnamon
  • 3 fresh bay leaves
  • 1 whole nutmeg (for grating)
  • 1 vanilla pod
  • 2 star anise
  • square of dark chocolate per serving

MULLED WINE HOT CHOCOLATE (SERVES 4)

  • 1 bottle of Tramonto Red (features in our special offer brochure for £3.99)
  • 400g caster sugar
  • 200g cocoa powder
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 5 star anise
  • 8 cloves
  • 500g dark chocolate broken into pieces
  • 2 clementines or satsumas
  • 1 sprig of rosemary

CRANBERRY & PINOT NOIR MULLED WINE (SERVES 4)

  • 1 bottle of La Umbra Pinot Noir (features in our special offer brochure for £4.70)
  • 65g caster sugar
  • 3 cinnamon sticks (and 1 for extra garnish)
  • 120g chopped cranberries
